Experiment.
Experiment.

Hello everyone. I decided to do a little experiment. I put subtitles on a very nice weeb scene video
- [MissaX] - Sinfully Sweet Mommy (Syren De Mer, Tyler Nixon), and waited for 100 people to download the subtitles. Then I checked the number of thanks - there were 2 thanks. Maybe someone will tell me where such ignorance comes from - after all, it's just one move of the computer mouse. It is very sad.
About "thanks"

Don't worry, 2% is even above the average...!
My average is 0.7%
You know, recently, I've visited ScanLoverForum, a site for JAV. Some people who request subtitles there don't even take time to write the whole JAV ID (they just write something like "SSNI-701, 703, 744, 758 please"). So I don't expect a lot...
I think most people use internet as a "download and go".
Ungrateful users

To be honest, I have pretty much given up on that now. A hell of a lot are not willing to do any kind of work at all, and only demand that others cater to their every desire.
I have gone through the request area, and took the time to do basic VOSK translations. And after doing several, I noticed something. Most are the same people begging over and over again, and have zero uploads. And it is not like using Subtitle Edit to make their own is very difficult. And surely if they collect subtitles, they have some they could share here that are not currently on the site.
But nope, they want it done for them. Are not willing to do the work themselves, or to share what they have. And as they can not even give thanks when somebody takes the time and effort to do something like that, I pretty much don't care anymore.
And that is just society today. I also am a creator in other things, such as last month starting to create "theater experience" compilations taking two old movies, adding in shorts, trailers, theater bumpers, and the like to create an old school "theater experience" as it would have been decades ago. And while I have made 14 in two weeks and had thousands of downloads, very few can even hit a simple "thank you" button.
It's like most simply expect to have their every whim catered to, and not even care that people like us actually take the time and effort to do it in the first place. And I will likely not even bother to fulfill "requests" anymore, as those sadly seem to be the worst of the lot.

Maybe a clue: 50% of users visit this site with a mobile device.
That shouldn't be the reason of the low "thanks"/ratings rate, but maybe the reason they can't use SubtitleEdit for S2T.
I can't really get why people watch this kind of movie on a phone...

Many people watch everything on their phones because they are addicted. If you tried to take their phone, you'd see how crazy they would be. And they don't want to thank you - I don't know why. I'm wondering if it's too hard to make one move with a computer mouse?
