I was thinking of a way to make a monetary incentive for the subtitle makers because we all know how difficult and time consuming creating subs can be, and here's what I've come up with: create a subreddit for the site, find the movies and put them on a video host (like doodstream) with the subtitles soft-coded on them and post there on the subreddit with a link to the .srt on this site. that way traffic would be driven here from reddit and in the same time subtitle makers can make some money off the video host. I've already created a subreddit and if the admins accepted this proposal contact me to make you mods there. this is just an idea I got two minutes ago it's probably stupid so let's discuss that here please.

Hello, I'm the creator and main admin of the site. First, thank you for your interest and sharing your projects. Many people would have taken the subtitles and make their business without telling a word. So thank you for that. AVSubtitles is a community project. So I won't speak in the name of all the authors here. Of course I'd love to find a way to get a little money to pay a part of the host provider bills, without adding ads everywhere or uploading subtitles on a pay-per-click host. I think your project is a good idea but I won't join for 2 main reasons: 1) As specified in the Terms Of Use of this site, I don't want to provide movies or even links to movies. I wish AVSubtitles focuses only on subtitles. (Other sites provide videos with embedded subtitles, but it's because I wanted to focus only on subtitles that I created this site). 2) I just don't have time :) With my everyday life, I can hardly get time to improve the site or writing subtitles. So I wouldn't be able to get time for moderation or uploading stuff. However you can freely use the subtitles I wrote. That would be fair to keep the credits though, or give a link to this site in case some subtitles writers want to help us :) You can also give a link to your subreddit here if you want. Adding a "partner/friends site list" is one of the section I could add for the future of AVSubtitles. Once again, this is only my own opinion.
