There are "Machine translations", and there are "machine translations". I speak almost no Japanese, and rely upon machine translations. However, on that note I also go through them and translate them again into "modern English". Removing phrases said in Japan ("going", "comfortable", "make rice") and replace them with phrases that would be said in English. Even adding notes sometimes (like that the Chunichi Dragons are a baseball team, or putting yen into US$ equivalence). Machines can do an alright job, but one should then follow afterwards and make sure that what is said makes sense. For me, that is only a first step.

yes. I don't think I've ever asked a lover during sex if she were 'comfortable' or told her that her ***** was 'comfortable'. I've never 'gone', nor have I ever been 'cheap' with my 'ejaculate', and I've never shouted "I'm going to orgasm!" It does make me laugh, but it's such a headache to have to go through the file to fix them all. Luckily, there is the 'replace all' option in Notebook AND Subtitle Edit.
