The plot returns to Barbara Scott (the always touching Kay Parker), whose loneliness overtakes her when her son Paul suddenly moves away from a toxic relationship with his mother, so her attention now focuses on her younger son Jimmy (the attractive Jerry Butler). Barbara feels increasingly jealous of Jimmy's girlfriend and can't stop thinking about him, so she goes to visit her close friend Joyce (the delicious Honey Wilder) to confess, but catches her in bed with her own son Brian. After reflecting on the moral questions of their actions, they both decide to take control of their sex lives, randomly alternating with as many men as necessary, the first of which appears in the form of a pizza man whom they both trick into coming over to share a "slice." Director Kirdy Stevens and screenwriter Helene Terrie not only successfully recapture the joyfully perverse erotic charge of the original classic, but also skillfully explore the weighty themes of guilt, jealousy, and repression. The sex scenes are truly explicit and exciting, and the sequence in which Barbara and Joyce seduce lucky pizza delivery boy Billy (the amiable Mike Wallace) is undoubtedly a highlight. The film is also enthusiastically acted by an engaging and playful cast, with particularly lively contributions from Blake Palmer as Joyce's carefree and horny son, Brian; the fresh-faced blonde Lisa Lake as Jimmy's scheming, unfaithful girlfriend, Diane; and Ron Jeremy as a sleazy record producer.
