Genre stalwart Jamie Gillis leads the cast as Williams, a man involved in a business deal with some very shady mobsters who won't hesitate to threaten or harm both his family and friends to ensure his full cooperation. Williams enters a seemingly abandoned building, where he is guided through a series of color-coded rooms, witnessing some rather strange occurrences. Some of these occurrences are decidedly sexual in nature, but devoid of love or any recognizable human emotion. Like the viewer, Williams is drawn in, fascinated by the coldly erotic display, wondering what it all means. The final "tableau" in the old building is a necrophiliac act, an ultimate fusion of love and death, "Eros and Thanatos." Meanwhile, his brother Larry, a petty criminal, seems partly responsible for the deterioration of Williams's perfect and successful life…
One of the most radical and beautiful adult cinematic experiences ever filmed in the golden age of porn, a depressing masterpiece that deals with the darkness within the human soul. The great director Richard Mahler (“Her Name Was Lisa,” “The Pink Ladies”…) was, in fact, Roger Watkins (as it later became known), and he was also responsible for the disturbing “The Last House on Dead End Street” from 1973. Somehow, it all makes sense. One of a kind, this is the kind of cinematic experience that is not easily forgotten. Each indelible image is perfectly composed, and the music is used hauntingly. This is the underworld, where not even sex offers refuge.
