“Danish Pastries” (according to the English release) follows the frenetic adventures that occur when an experimental aphrodisiac intended for a village brothel is mistakenly mixed with a libido suppressant intended for a neighboring girls' school. The perpetrator of such “barbarism” is a clumsy astrologer sent from the capital to the school to supply the suppressant to the horniest girls. But of course, in parallel, an unorthodox scientist arrives in the same village, on the same day, to test an aphrodisiac in the brothel. A series of astonishing events take care of the rest, amid laughter, sex, and histrionics.
Denmark abolished all film censorship before its Swedish neighbors, opening the floodgates for skin and sin to spread across local movie screens. While popular comedy actor Ole Søltoft was working his way up through a variety of roles in "risqué" films, producer Anders Sandberg snatched him up to star in what would be called the "Zodiac Series" (only six were filmed), where each film was built around a different zodiac sign, each more erotic and pornographic than the last.
