Lady Doriana Grey is held captive in her own castle, and her twin sister, confined to a psychiatric institution, is under the care of Dr. Orloff. The two sisters share a psychic connection, and besides their identical appearance, they actually have much more in common. Doriana seems incapable of experiencing sexual satisfaction, but her enigmatic presence attracts many lovers, mostly women, who cannot resist her charms. When they succumb to their lust for Doriana, they pay the price of death. It is a curse that keeps her young and ravishing, while her twin, on the other hand, seems to monopolize all the sexual desire that Doriana is unable to absorb, and feeds on the climaxes her lovers project before succumbing.
Arthouse cinema and porn intertwine in this extremely strange and slightly poetic film by director Jess (Jesús) Franco. Most of the hardcore scenes are unerotic, but that's what the director was aiming for, because they convey the fact that Doriana isn't getting any pleasure from her carnal acts either. Franco likes graphic close-ups of the act, and his filming is quite "ugly" in the best possible way. Franco's muse, Lina Romay, brilliantly takes over the most torrid scenes to turn them into a morbid affair.
