The first 20 minutes or so are set in a restaurant (an actual dining room, not a set) where a famous prostitute, Barbara Broadcast (industry icon Annette Haven), is interviewed by an enthusiastic journalist (C.J. Laing). This long sequence is filled with all sorts of mischief, made all the more exciting by the surreal humor that springs from the casual attitude adopted by the participants. The pacing and structure of this entire sequence show that Radley Metzger was at his best.
Radley Metzger followed his masterpiece "The Opening of Misty Beethoven" with this lighthearted, carefree comedy about bad manners, featuring sex almost from beginning to end mixed with the director's usual wit and elegance. Many adult film fans consider this film to be Metzger's best, based, no doubt, on a pair of dazzling erotic sequences that are among the most memorable of the genre.
