It's a total mess. None of the files fit together properly, and the transcription is full of errors. Not a single SRT file is saved. And they've marked it with 1 perfect. I don't understand that.
"Hey, if you think you can do better, why not try making the subtitles yourself? The audio quality is pretty bad, especially for a 1976 film. If you can create something better, go ahead and show me. I've been looking for a good Blu-ray subtitle with full dialogue, but even popular sites like (link unavailable) and (link unavailable) don't include English subtitles in their versions. If you're not impressed with others' work, at least try doing it yourself and prove it to me."
"I've provided 3 raw formats, but only my version has full dialogue. If you think you can do better, prove it. Upload your own work and show me your skills."
Love how instead of constructive criticism, some users just critique. Especially ones who don't know how difficult subtitling can be.
Yeah, that can be frustrating... Even when I run into an issue with someone else's subtitles, I understand that the problem might not be on their end. It happened to me once, so I just uploaded an alternative version for others who might face the same issue. I don’t act all high and mighty toward the original uploader because I know how much work goes into creating a subtitle track—especially when you’re starting from scratch with no reference.
Is it very disheartening when after spending hours creating a subtitle, others have nothing but complaints to offer. Especially as most of those are relatively minor, and come from people who have never contributed a single subtitle. And nobody pays us for this, we do it for free simply so others can appreciate the movies in another language (of if they are hearing impaired).
S'truth. I only started subtitling when I had had enough of the inaccurate subtitles on JAV videos. Found it to be surprisingly easy, if long and tedious, like needle-point almost, but very satisfying in the end product. The software is free, so if you don't like/appreciate the subtitles in your favorite genre, do something about it aside from moaning and groaning.
