Hello all, This is a great site! Love being able to understand some of the vintage, foreign movies. To that end, I've uploaded some German subs, but can't find the English versions. Can anyone help? Look forward to uploading some more soon. KW

Hello and welcome! Thank you for your message and contributions! About English versions, if you're talking about the German subtitles you uploaded, the more easy and fast way to get it is to use an online translator to make what is called a "machine translated version" (MTL). With this technique, you won't get a perfect result, but you can get something pretty understandable as long as you're not hearing impaired. Personaly, I use google translate, but there are alternative such as SubtitleCat (with a lot of ads...) and subtitlestranslator.com (I haven't tried it yet). Of course, the best would be a "human translation", but unless a German speaker helps, that's very, very difficult to get a good result. Maybe you already know about MTL. If you don't and if you want, I can do it on some subtitles if you want to have an idea of the result. See you!

Hello, Thanks for the response! I tried Google translate for 'Nackt und keß am Königssee', and the results were illegible. Could you try your method and see if you can get any better results? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I've read the german subtitles, and actually the problem is not the translation. The problem is the original german subtitles which is bad quality. I guess it has been done via speech recognition without proof reading. The result is a lot of dialogs without any sense, thus the english translation is indecipherable. For this specific case, someone on vintage-erotica-forum.com has transcribed Dutch hardcoded subtitles and made a MTL with subtitlestranslator. I've uploaded these subtitles with credits to the original author.

That's great, thanks! I'll try the translating the others using some of the tools that you've mentioned.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid the two other "Josefine Mutzenbacher" german subtitles are also raw speech recognition transcripts. The dialogs don't seem to make much sense even in german... Speech recognition can be a good start for making subtitles, but only if you speak the original language. I speak some words in German and Italian, but even with speech recognition + dictionary + headset, I've never been able to write subtitles from these languages :(

Thanks, yeah I didn't have much joy trying to translate them. Pity, I've wanted translations for these two films for a while... If you come across them, could you upload please?

Yeah, we miss german and italian speakers unfortunately :( But of course, if I can find those subtitles, I'll upload them!
